But that statement helped me open my eyes. So, thank you. The phrase "Political Islam" caught my attention. It is redundant. The premise is that Islam is not necessarily political. We've been told that over and again. But I do not believe that any more, because all the evidence that I am familiar with points to the contrary. There is no context in which Islam is apolitical, whatever the country or land. It has been tried, of course, and by very powerful people. I offer Attaturk's Kemalisms in Turkey as an example of the futility of non-political Islam. I could also offer the Ba'athist run states as examples of the notion's failure. The fact of the matter is that Islam is culturally "hardy" and resilient. Islam is, both outwardly and inwardly, inherently political. You know a tree by its fruits, so look to the fruits of Islam.

It is time past high time that the nominally Christian west realize that its value system is utterly incompatible with Islam. It would be best to come to that realization soon, or "the gods of the copybook headings" will surely catch up. They will snatch us from our wind-blown fancies of wishful thinking, and reacquaint us with this and other basic, immutable truths. The gods of the copybook headings methods of communicating with us are typically brutal and bloody handed. Wake up. See what is plain to see. Islam is political.

I'm not a kook, and I don't "hate" anyone, even though it would be justified. I'm simply an American looking to preserve my homeland's foundation for my posterity.
